Il Forrer (1902-30, I, p. 198) riporta: Coin-engraver and Medallist of Paris; inventor of a machine for striking coins and medals. At the request of the Parliament he came to England in Sept. 1649, and in 1656, he obtained a pension of £ 100 a year. He soon afterwards returned to France, to come back at the Restoration, when Charles II. confirmed his grant. Più oltre (V, p. p. 544) riporta: Ruding, II, 7, mentions under date 1662, 18. April, that "agreements were made by Sir Ralph Freeman, knt. master and worker of the mint, and Henry Slingby esq. his deputy, with Peter Blondeau about coining His Majesty's monies by the mill and press".
