Il Forrer (1902-30, III, p. 218) riporta: After many difficulties with the Town Council, his resignation [as mint-mastern of Lucerne] was accepted, and he was free to take the post that was offered to him as Mint-master at Montbeliard, acting at the same time for the Bishop of Basle, Johann Konrad von Reinach, at his Mint of Porrentruy. Più avanti (VII, p. 518) riporta: K. tried in vain to undertake the Strassburg mintage, but at the end of 1716 he farmed the Mints of Montbéliard and Porrentruy, in which latter place he died, in the service of the Bishop of Basle. K. confined himself to the striking of Heller. The better issues from the Montbeliard and Porrentruy were engraved by Hedlinger (until August 1816) [sic!].
